French Food - Discover the Taste of France
For many people, one of the first things they think of when they think of France, other than the Eiffel Tower, is the amazingly delicious cuisine. French food has a name around the globe, and is viewed as being rich and delectable. The history of food in France is deep and interesting, and if you take the time to study into it, you will find that their food is actually based on making frequent changes, rather than being based on tradition. One thing that you may notice about French food is that much of their food is very high in saturated fats and is very rich as well. Often used in their tasty recipes are butter and very heavy creams. Although they eat such a great deal of saturated fats, amazingly you will find that the incident of heart disease in France is quite a bit lower than that of the United States. You may be wondering how they can eat so much of this amazing food, yet still they have less heart problems. The answer to this question is what they have to drink with their meals. Most of the time when you sit down to a true dinner of French food, you will be enjoying it with a glass of red wine. Although the food is rich and heavy on the fat, it appears that drinking red wine with their meals gives them an advantage and lowers their risk of heart problems that so many Americans deal with. Not only is red wine excellent for the health, but it also goes along wonderfully with a delicious French meal. One very important type of food that the French love is cheese. If you spend any time in France, no doubt you will taste and experience their love for various cheeses. While they do eat a great deal of cheese on its' own, many of their recipes also include cheese. Other foods that they are known for are their mustard sauces, which are extra ordinary. French people enjoy eating, and it more than a hurried time to shove a few bites down their throats. When they sit down to eat, they eat to enjoy themselves, which is one reason that their food is so excellent. As a culture that has such a high emphasis on eating and enjoying oneself while eating, it is no surprise that French food is considered to be some of the most refined and delicious food around the world.
